My Pain Has A Purpose - How To Grow Through Pain.

My Pain Has A Purpose - How To Grow Through Pain.

P•A•I•N - a four letter word every single one of us will face at some point in our lives. Though pain hurts in the moment and sometimes feels like there's no way out, somehow someway we all get through it. Why does pain exist in the world & does it always make sense? Abusive relationships, bad reports from the doctor, the sudden loss of a loved one.... All of these things we could do without, but pain, though it hurts, produces something in us that the good times never could. Pain gives us a superhero like strength and connects to every single human being on the face of this earth. You see, you might makes millions of dollars in your life time, but not everyone will. However, that time your heart was broken, trillions of people around globe can relate to that. Today, let's remind ourselves that our pain is far greater than us and our pain has a purpose to connect us to others who are in pain and will one day need a word of encouragement from someone, like yourself, who has been there.

A Word Of Encouragement For "All The Single Ladies".

A Word Of Encouragement For "All The Single Ladies".

Will I ever find the one? Are there still any good guys left? When will I ever get married?

Ladies, If you've ever asked these questions, I want you to know the answer is yes! However, it's imperative that you enjoy being single. There is a reason for every season of life and being single isn't a curse, it's a huge blessing!

Don't sit around waiting for your future husband, get up and make your future happen. On the inside of you there's a woman with a vision, a risk taker, and a conqueror. Dare to ask yourself, "Am I making the absolute most of this season? Do I recognize I am complete even without a man? Do I fully love myself just the way I am?"

Before Adam met Eve, God put him to work. Might I suggest that before you meet your "Adam" God wants to put you to work? Years before my husband and I began dating I dreamt about writing books, preaching, and starting businesses, but I didn't just dream... Step by step I got to work. As I began following the call God placed in my heart, He brought me the most amazing man who happened to have the same call on His life.

Genesis 2:18 says, "It is not good that man should be alone, I will make him a helper comparable to him."

If God desires to give us a helper who is comparable to us, then wouldn't you want to be the best version of you that you could possibly be? I bet you want someone comparable to the best version of you, not the "I could do better because I am not really trying" version of you.

Ladies, there's nothing more attractive than a confident woman who knows what she's called to do in life. You'll discover your calling by seeking God daily, He wants to reveal all that He has for you. As you operate in your calling, your future husband will take notice of you. Just look at Ruth and Boaz.

Your husband is somewhere tangled up in the path of your calling unknowingly waiting for you to arrive. So be the go getter that God has called you to be and make some moves in 2018!

20 Things I Wish I Had Known When I Was 20.

20 Things I Wish I Had Known When I Was 20.
  1. Time Flies. Don't waste it. Too many times people said, "You're young, you have time." No you don't. Start Now! Life doesn't sit around and wait for you, so go out and make things happen.
  2. What you're called to do in life is attached to what you love to do in life.
  3. Who you surround yourself with matters. Do you want to succeed? Then hang out with others who understand the value of hard work.
  4. Hard work pays off. Period.
  5. You don't have to be a statistic. Just because you came from poverty doesn't mean you have to stay there. Get out and make things happen.
  6. Don't hold onto offense, it slowly kills you. Nobody wants to be around an offended person either, so you'll end up offended & alone. Release forgiveness.
  7. Pride is a liar that destructs your future. Pride will keep you stuck in a season of life that you don't even want to be in, but you're too prideful to admit you need help. Be humble and doors will open for you.
  8. Money isn't everything, but it does bring an aspect of freedom.
  9. Even if you make a mistake, God will work it together for your good if you love Him. So don't be afraid to make mistakes.
  10. Do Not spend all your paycheck in one place. Start saving money now. Don't wait.

Too Fat, Too Skinny, Never Good Enough….

Too Fat, Too Skinny, Never Good Enough….

The title to this blog was the theme song of my life. I had set such unrealistic standards on myself based upon what I thought would be pleasing to eyes of another.

At 21 years old, I used to get Botox and temporary lip injections. AT TWENTY-ONE! I look back at my insanity and laugh. I didn’t even have wrinkles back then.

I believe a form of freedom comes from self-love and confidence. Confidence is when you can admire another man or woman’s physique and not feel any less valuable for not looking as thin, muscular or as curvy as they do.

I want to encourage you today to practice self-love!  This means that regardless of your imperfections, you can still love yourself. You are worth more than your bra size, more than your “gains”, and more than your pant size.

I Used To Be So Insecure - Overcoming Insecurities.

I Used To Be So Insecure - Overcoming Insecurities.

I remember as a young child being so bold and confident. I used to think I could take on the world. I felt like Super Girl, I was invincible. Unfortunately, life happens. Harsh words were spoken over my life that put to rest the Super Girl in me.

People often ask me, “Why are you removing your tattoos?” The truth is, I am removing them because I do not like them. Quite frankly, I don’t know if I ever did. Every tattoo on my body is mark of me trying to be somebody other than myself.

Insecurities come from the need to be approved by others and then missing the mark. If you live for the approval of others you will never find confidence.

God never designed us to be insecure. He never created us to be somebody else. I can imagine how heartbroken He becomes when we compare ourselves to others. Your confidence was never meant to be found in the approval of others. You are approved by God and that is all the approval you need.

How I Discovered My Purpose In Life

How I Discovered My Purpose In Life

Does My Life Have A Purpose?

Some might think this is a silly question, but for nearly 26 years of my life I often wondered this.

Why was I born? What am I supposed to do with my life? Where do we go when we die?

I even asked a family member and the response I was given was, “Life sucks and then you die.” This answer was never good enough for me.

I have realized that some inventions just can’t be understood unless you first hear from the inventor, or unless you read the owner’s manual. How can you understand the creation if you do not speak to the creator?

Overcoming The Pain and Shame of An Abortion.

Overcoming The Pain and Shame of An Abortion.

In 2010, I walked into Planned Parenthood, distraught and not ready to abort my child.

I have met many women whom have similar stories to mine and the question I get asked the most is, “How did you forgive yourself?”

This was one of the hardest things for me to let go of. However, in my time of prayer, I received a revelation that I hope will help any woman battling the same guilt I once battled.
