FAQ's An Ex Porn Star Gets Asked: + My Answers. (Pt. 1)

Q: Were You In It For The Sex?

A: As disappointing as my answer might be to many, no. I was never in it for the sex. I was in it because I was so broken and felt so rejected by so many people in my life that I just wanted someone to notice and accept me. And, boy, I sure was noticed in that industry, but for all the wrong reasons. I later learned that I didn't want to be accepted for what I could give to others, I wanted to accepted for who I was. And I later found that in Jesus.

Q: Was It Hard For You To Leave The Porn Industry?

A: I encountered a few obstacles, but God provided for me every step of the way. I was in such a place of desperation when I left, and that made it easier. I was at rock bottom, there was truly nowhere to go but up. The support I was given from the XXX Church (https://www.xxxchurch.com) and from a couple of different mentors at Cornerstone Church of San Diego helped me have a smooth transition. If you want great stability in life then you will need great accountability.

Q: What Was Your Exact Exit Strategy?

A: My strategy was NOT well planned. But Thank God He lead me in my messiness.

Here’s what happened, in order:

1. Stashed enough money to be able to leave and live without pimp.

2. Called Mom – lived with her until I could get back on my feet.

3. Got my own apartment & car with the money I stashed.

4. Ran out of money – didn’t think that one through.

5. Needed money so I booked a porn scene in Las Vegas (Not knowing this would truly be my LAST).

6. Before leaving for the airport the Holy Spirit encouraged me to bring my Bible (that I had received @ The Rock Church 3 years prior).

7. On the airplane I read Revelation 2:20-23 (YIKES, read it for yourself).

8. I was so convicted by that scripture & so ready for a better life that I filmed my last scene & quit the business that day.

9. Began going to Cornerstone Church of San Diego & began praying, reading the Bible, and worshipping God with song daily. THIS is what strengthened my spirit. I also fasted regularly (spiritual weapons bring the greatest breakthrough).

10. Moved out of my apt and in with my dad (cheaper rent).

11. Got a job that paid $11 an hour HUGE PAY CUT (I used to make a minimum of $30K per month).

12. Months later I moved out of my dad’s house.

13. I kept seeking, loving and serving God & now my life is where it is today. Remember, never give up on God. Life might bring you trials, but eventually God will get you through it and put you on top of it.

Q: Do You Still Get Recognized?

A: Yes. Most people don’t say, “Aren’t you Jenna Presley?” They just say, “WOW, You look REALLY familiar.”

Q: We All Have A Past, But Yours Is All Over The Internet. How Do You Deal With That?

A: I choose not to let it bother me. We all make mistakes in life, mine just happen to be on the internet. My husband reminds me that I am not a product of my past, I am a product of grace. And he is right. Jesus died on the cross for my sins so why should I be ashamed of what He died for? In fact, none of us should be ashamed of where we have been or of what we have done in life. Jesus died so that we could live in victory. Living a life of shame is not victorious, and because of the cross, we deserve better than that.
