When you're going through the trials of life it is helpful to develop an "outsider looking in" mentality. The reality is, whatever you're going through, you will get through. The storms won't last forever; that's inevitable. However, when we are the ones going through it, we tend to get caught in it. Try to remove yourself from the situation. Picture a friend, your child, or a family member in the midst of your struggle. What would you say to them? How would you encourage them? I bet you would be able to confidently say to them, "Don't worry. This too shall pass. God will get you through this one. Everything is going to be okay." If you could say that to someone else, why couldn't you also say that yourself? Remember to encourage yourself in the Lord. Our friends and family members aren't the only ones who need our encouragement, sometimes we need it too.
"And David was greatly distressed; for the people spake of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved, every man for his sons and for his daughters: BUT DAVID ENCOURAGED HIMSELF IN THE LORD HIS GOD." - 1 Samuel 30:6
Don't get caught in the now. Even through your trials, God is with you. He is strengthening you and preparing you for something even greater.
You Are Loved!
