God is seeking people who are pure in heart. To develop and to keep a pure heart, we must be intentional about truly forgiving those whom have hurt us, we must quickly let go of all offenses, and we must pay attention to our thoughts, because our thoughts form our words, our emotions, our attitudes, our motives, and our actions.
Have you had any unanswered prayers lately? James 4:3 teaches us that God won't even answer our prayers if our motives are wrong. Purity matters.
When I think of purity I think of an innocent child, that has yet to encounter heartbreak. They are so full of love, joy, and trust. This is God's desire for us. Just because one man or woman has hurt you does not mean you should never love or trust again.
An impure heart often times is a direct result of someone that has been hurt but not healed. When we choose to hold onto pain we allow impurities to enter our heart. Hurt will bring on emotions such as anger, jealousy, insecurities, lust, and manipulation. It is important that you spend daily alone time with Jesus and ask Him to heal you. Don't hold onto your pain. Instead, lay it down at the feet of Jesus and choose to forgive others as God has forgiven you.
If you have not noticed, "purity of heart is not a natural trait; in most of us, it is something we must work on. 1 Thessalonians 4:3 teaches us to desire and work toward purity of heart because that is God's will. This is a challenge that every believer should be excited about excepting, but we do not have to face it alone.
God has created us to be dependent on Him, to bring Him our challenges and allow Him to help us with them. Only He knows what is in our hearts, and He is an expert at removing the worthless things from us while retaining the valuable.
There is a price to pay to have a pure heart, but there is also a reward. We do not have to be afraid to make the commitment to allow God to do a deep purifying work in us. We may not always feel comfortable about the truth He brings us, but if we do our part - facing it, excepting it, and allowing it to change us - He Will make sure that we are blessed."
The more time you spend in God's presence the more your desires will change. Things that used to bother you and worry you will suddenly seem so minuscule. God is pure and as you continue to spend time with Him daily you too will become pure, if that is your desire. A pure heart makes a person powerful powerful because a pure heart sees God and is not dictated by emotions, manipulation, fear, or other people's opinions. This allows you to enjoy a blessed life to the fullest. Be sure to enjoy the process to purity because it is a rewarding one.
You Are Loved!
